Nasser Azam

A London-based British contemporary artist, Azam’s reputation was established in the early 1980s, with exhibitions at galleries in Birmingham and the West Midlands, including the Barber Institute of Fine Arts.

In 2007, Azam became Artist in-Residence at County Hall Gallery, London, mounting a series of major exhibitions of early and recent work, including the critically acclaimed Anatomica in April 2008.

It was at this time he began working with sculpture, and in February 2008 a monumental bronze, The Dance, was unveiled on London’s South Bank. It was followed in July 2012 by the unveiling of Athena in the London City Airport; at 12 metres it is the tallest bronze sculpture in the UK.

Azam has developed his painting in a series of projects that reflect his interest in extreme working conditions and also painting as a performance, from Zero Gravity (Star City, Moscow, 2008), to the freezing ice deserts of Antarctica (2010), where he completed thirteen large paintings.

In 2019, London’s prestigious Saatchi Gallery hosted Nasser Azam: Saiful Malook, the artist’s most comprehensive solo exhibition to date. Azam’s work is included in numerous private and public collections, including the Zabludowicz Collection and The Sovereign Art Foundation.

Ru Knox

Ru Knox is an English artist who has spent years as a professional classical portraitist, fulfilling private commissions and exhibiting both in the UK and abroad with much success in international competitions.

Ru combines this rigorous formal structure with his own original ideas, displaying his unique and personal style. His work has developed from pure traditional representation to a more contemporary approach, but retains references to his training.

He has a rare and potent emotional expression which has culminated from years of imaginative experimentation with various techniques and textures, but his legacy observational precision and handling still capture the psychology and immortalise the souls of his portraits.

Carl McCrow

McCrow is a controversial artist taking weaponry from war torn areas around the world and producing provocative and thought provoking works of art.

In 2009 McCrow’s close friend lost both legs and an arm in an explosion whilst on tour with the British Army in Afghanistan. It was one of the catalysts that turned a distant fascination with guns and weaponry into questions about individual purpose, morality, hidden stories and the ability of one person to make a difference.

Since then, McCrow has begun a journey to deactivate and destroy as many weapons as he can. It’s a personal quest to understand first hand the terrible consequences of conflict and through art, tell the unheard, human stories that share their past with each weapon he finds.

As well as making a small but important difference to arms reduction, McCrow is producing a body of work that is proving to be extraordinarily provocative and totally captivating.
