Perry Scott

Perry Scott is an English artist who defines their work as a hybrid of pop and fine art. He uses traditional techniques to produce detailed, high-quality oil paintings that are infused with vivid colour, something that Perry is very passionate about.

He approaches his practice in a very considered manner - from degree level through to his 6-year career in the world of branding and design, he structures his work much like he would a piece of design - deep thought, refinement, and with a real focus on the impact of the composition and quality. The style of his work most notably takes influence from his knowledge and use of graphic design technology, which he praises for having had a huge role in informing his signature graphic-like style. His style exemplifies a psychedelic and fresh look that he feels visualises his version of beauty. Perry notes that the main difference between his passion for design and art is that for him, his artwork is what truly holds a physical piece of his mind, soul and existence, something that his design career could never extract. It’s this realisation and sense of fulfilment that has led him to pursue art as a long-term and dedicated vocation.

Debuting his artwork with AdLib Gallery, his work has been introduced as part of several events hosted by AdLib Gallery - most recently ‘Art Save The Queen’ at Gallery@OXO, where Perry produced a small series of Gallery exclusive prints ‘Gleam Queen’ portraying Her Majesty in a sharp inverted-chrome style, created as a side-line release from his current projects.

His upcoming works in development - ‘Chromatic Iconism’, a series of oil paintings and prints that explore his fascination with the ways in which light bounces and moves, and the ways in which colour blends and react to this, in particular how it does so when adorning the human form. This series will explore his take on well-known icons such as Marilyn Monroe, icons who have directly influenced him in some way through his life, as well as the wider art world. The goal is to create a colourful array of uplifting portraits which he believes his future clientele will truly fall in love with.
