Sena Shah

Sena Shah creates distinctive abstract and optical artworks using vibrant felt fabric. His hand-crafted pieces explore colour, texture, and movement, often incorporating bold geometric patterns and uplifting words. Influenced by the natural world — sun, sea, water, and flora — as well as architectural forms, Sena's work combines tactile richness with visual intrigue.

A signature feature of Sena’s art is his innovative use of felt alongside ultra-thin reflective materials (mirrors), which produces a lenticular effect. As viewers move from left to right, the artwork appears to transform — shapes shift, colours play, and messages reveal themselves. This dynamic quality invites interaction and encourages moments of emotional connection and reflection.

Sena’s belief that "art should not be static" underpins his practice. He strives to create pieces that inspire curiosity, spark positive feelings, and reward the viewer with an ever-changing visual experience.

Sena’s work channels the influence of many post-war artists, with inspiration taken from the works of Carlos Cruz-Diez, Victor Vasarely and Bridget Riley to name a few.
