Sandy Dooley

Sandy Dooley is a landscape artist living and working in the beautiful Weald of Kent in the UK. She has a studio in her garden and works outside as much as possible following the seasons in her abstracted and landscape paintings and allowing the colours and mood to seep into her work.

With a BA Honours Degree from St Martins School of Art, Dooley loves colour and texture and the play of light and shadow. She often throws paint at her canvas or works with the canvas on the floor, dripping paint onto it; she finds such spontaneity valuable to her inspiration and her work.

Sandy uses beautiful quality acrylic paints, mostly Golden acrylic, and Lascaux, and a large variety of brushes and palette knives, to drip, wash, smudge and paint the surface of the canvas, to create a rich and varied painting.
