Natasha Durlacher

Natasha Durlacher is a British fine art and documentary photographer whose work explores memory, solitude, human connection and the fleeting nature of experience.

With a background in fine art and art history, Durlacher studied at the Académie Charpentier and École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. She subsequently worked across film, theatre and the arts, including with the Jim Henson Creature Workshop, BBC productions and the Academy for Performing Arts in Hong Kong. During extensive travels in Asia, she worked as a photography assistant and stylist and curated exhibitions of photography and contemporary Asian art.

Photography became the central focus of Durlacher's practice during the Covid-19 pandemic, when she began documenting the profound shifts taking place in everyday life. Her series Postcards from the Pandemic was featured by the Victoria and Albert Museum and later included in Pandemic Objects, published by the Architectural Association in 2024. Her lockdown work also formed the basis of Together Apart, a self-published photographic book and subsequent exhibition at White City House, London.

Durlacher's work has received international recognition. She was a winner of Portrait of Britain in 2021, has twice been shortlisted for the Royal Photographic Society International Open Call, and has received two Honourable Mentions at the International Photography Awards. Her series Bathing Horses was shortlisted for the PX3 Paris Photo Prize, State of the World 2024.

Her work has also appeared in publications including Vogue Italia, Black + White Photography, The Architectural Review, Hoxton Mini Press and HarperCollins, and in 2025, Snow Machine and Snow Barriers were exhibited for a year at the Lech Museum in Austria.
