Laura Pedley

Exhibiting with Ad Lib Gallery at Affordable Art Fair Battersea, March 2025

Laura is a UK-based abstract landscape painter, sharing her experiences of finding sanctuary and peace in the landscape during stormy seasons of life through the artworks she creates in her peaceful home studio. She looks for the tensions between order and chaos, drawing inspiration from the transitions between different layers found within the landscape to create works that invite others to share in her experiences.

Creating these atmospheric and peaceful paintings, she layers rich blues and greens, bleeding into soft pinks, seeking to capture and abstract the essence of spacious landscapes, seascapes, and skies. In mapping out the layers and rhythms that create beauty in the midst of uncertainty, her aim is to capture the delicate balance holding up the world around us.

Laura rediscovered her creativity several years ago as she experienced motherhood for the first time. Painting became a way for her to process the challenges brought by the changing seasons of life. Over time, her creative practice evolved into a means of expressing the deep intake of breath and inner settled-ness she encounters in wild places.

Her artwork has been widely featured in exhibitions across the UK, at several prominent art fairs in London and Manchester, and is proudly held in private collections across the world. She continues to produce commissions for private clients and designers while also creating new self-initiated pieces to explore the boundaries of her practice.
