Holly Worland Young
Holly Worland Young is a Bristol based ceramic artist who specialises in marine animal sculptures. After graduating from Falmouth University in the 2020 lockdown, she started making small animal sculptures in her garage and quickly fell in love with the ceramic medium, discovering that it lends itself beautifully to marine life. Her subjects vary from marine mammals such as seals and humpback whales, to more obscure sea creatures like nudibranchs, boxfish, and so many more. Holly researches each animal before sculpting, making sure to get their form anatomically correct; she likes to capture each animal’s character by sculpting them all from scratch, meaning every single piece is unique.
