Georgia’s contemporary landscape’s are a vibrant & intuitive response to her surroundings. Inspired by the seasonally changing British landscape, Georgia captures the energy and pace of nature.
Her work is alive with movement and colour. Impulsive, energetic mark-making infuse the paintings with urgency, while gentler swathes of paint create atmosphere. Georgia enjoys the immediacy of working en plein air, rapidly responding to her environment - the energy, earthiness and windswept feeling of the landscape.
“Each painting has its own journey, I never plan an image or a colour palette as this hinders me from painting with complete freedom and emotion.”
Having studied and worked as a freelance illustrator, Georgia felt a desire to express herself more freely after relocating from Brighton to the countryside in Buckinghamshire in 2018. Since then, her work has been seen in Good Housekeeping & InStyle magazine’s, her painting ‘Unforgiving Elements’ 150x200cm was exhibited at The Oxo Tower, London for the Chaiya Art Prize 2023 & long listed for the Jackson Painting Prize. She regularly exhibits through solo, duo and group shows in a number of UK galleries; and her pieces adorn homes & commercial spaces worldwide - including, Canada, USA, Europe & Australia.
Ultimately, Georgia aims to create a ‘sense of place’ through a language of marks and colour, which evoke a raw energy and wild beauty in response to our natural landscape.
