Colette Moscati
She is a self-taught painter based in Surrey, UK. Growing up in a family of painters, she developed a fascination for capturing the nuances of nature through oils, watercolours, and later, silk painting. Having lived on the Scottish coast, she also has a deep appreciation for expansive landscapes, cooler palettes, and the tranquil beauty and freedom of being outdoors.
Since retiring from a corporate career in 2013, she has been devoted to her art practice, exploring themes and collections that echo her experiences and surroundings. Her inner journeys are often expressed in outward form, using nature as her muse. Her passion lies in celebrating life and nature through abstraction—bridging reality and intuition—and she seeks to reward the viewer for stepping closer to her work. She paints so that the closer one gets, the more there is to see. Each piece reveals layers of colour and texture, inviting viewers to experience the beauty of fleeting moments that inspired her in the studio and to appreciate them anew. Through abstraction, she hopes viewers can create their own stories, pausing to ponder what the works might represent to them.
In line with her belief that practicing art has significant health benefits, she also serves as an Art Activity Leader at Oakleaf Enterprise, an adult mental health and neurodiversity charity based in Guildford.
