Catriona Wood

Catriona Wood is a contemporary artist based in London, known for her floral paintings, now in homes and hotels across the UK, Europe, South Africa, Australia, and the USA.

Known for her playful and expressive style, Catriona captures the essence of flowers rather than their exact likeness, drawing on imagination to create compositions that feel familiar yet slightly out of reach. Her use of colour is often inspired by interiors and unusual palettes. Working in acrylic, she builds up visible brushstrokes and layers of colour. Her work has been featured in House & Garden and British Vogue, displayed on the London Underground, and acquired by Netflix for a US-based production.

Catriona exhibits in galleries and at art fairs, where she sells original paintings and limited-edition prints. She also accepts commissions. Highlights from her first 18 months as a full-time artist include the Affordable Art Fair (Battersea), The Other Art Fair (Shoreditch), and the Henley Festival (Berkshire), as well as solo shows at the Royal Automobile Club (Pall Mall) and galleries in Marylebone, Chelsea and Hampton Court.

Catriona studied a foundation diploma in Art & Design in Falmouth, and a degree in Graphic Design in Edinburgh and Boston (USA). Her time living in France, Australia & USA along with frequent travel, continues to influence her work.

After five years working as a management consultant in London—feeling uninspired and short on time to create—Catriona left corporate life in 2024 to pursue painting full-time. Her available work can be viewed on her website and Instagram. If you're interested in a studio visit or a commission, she’d love to hear from you.
