Carolina Piteira
Carolina Piteira holds a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art from the University of East London, following initial art studies in Portugal. She was awarded the Limehouse Arts Foundation Studio Award in 2012, and in 2014 was nominated by the Portuguese Ministry of Economy as an emerging artist to represent Portugal’s art market. Over her career, she has won prizes including the Degree Art Gallery Signature Art Award (2011), the National Painting Competition at El Corte Inglés, Lisbon (2009), and the Woman Art Award in Madrid (2018). Her work is held in private collections worldwide, including that of Luciano Benetton.
Piteira’s practice fuses classical techniques with a personal, intuitive approach. She creates emotionally resonant, atmospheric works shaped by her life experiences. Her pieces often incorporate mixed media, collage, and organic materials, evoking depth and narrative beyond surface aesthetics.
