ART BELOW 2024

We’re looking for artists to take part in our upcoming Art Below billboard poster campaigns on the London Underground and to exhibit with us at our gallery in South West London.

The campaigns are scheduled to coincide with various London art fairs and events including: The London Art Fair, The Affordable Art Fair, The Other Art Fair, Frieze London, and various exhibitions at Tate Britain.

About Art Below

Art Below uses billboard space to showcase art by leading and emerging artists in the London Underground and overseas. The group has nurtured an international community of artistic talent and has displayed the works of thousands of artists including Banksy, Damien Hirst, Anish Kapoor, D*Face, Ben Eine, Alison Jackson, Jake & Dinos Chapman, in London, Tokyo, Berlin and Los Angeles.

 

Ad Lib Gallery has collaborated with Art Below since 2022, at Regent's Park, Hyde Park Corner, Pimlico and various other London tube stations. We usually host a group exhibition at our gallery to coincide with the billboard campaigns. September - October 2024

Billboard Posters @ Regent’s Park, Pimlico & Hyde Park Corner Tube Stations + Exhibit @ Ad Lib Gallery, Wimbledon

Ad Lib Gallery will be working with Art Below again to display the works of selected artists on billboards at various London tube stations in September & October 2024.

This billboard campaign usually takes place every year and is timed to coincide with FRIEZE LONDON which runs from 9-13 October, as well as The Other Art Fair (10-13 October) and The Affordable Art Fair (16-20 October).

There will be approximately 15 to 20 artists taking part this year. Artists participating in the billboard campaign will be invited to exhibit artwork at our gallery in Wimbledon Village, in October / November 2024.

Art Below Billboard Posters

3 to 4 weeks at Regent’s Park tube station or 2 weeks at Pimlico / Hyde Park Corner.

DATES:

The first batch of billboard posters have just been installed at Regent’s Park (23rd September) and will be on display for 3-4 weeks. The posters at Pimlico and Hyde Park Corner are due to go up on 7th October, for approximately two weeks.

GENERAL INFO FOR ARTISTS:

Your artwork image and artist name will be prominent on the billboard poster(s) and we can include artwork details, a QR code, your website and your social media URL.

Our team will take care of artwork collation, layout, repro & administration, copy approval, amendments, printing and installation of your poster(s).

Professional photos will be taken of the billboard posters in situ at the tube station and these will be sent to the participating artists.

The billboard poster campaign and the group exhibition at our gallery will be featured and promoted on our website and in our email newsletter and via social media.

Art Below Group Show

24 October - 3 November 2024

Each artist can exhibit 1 large artwork (e.g. 100 x 100 cm) or 2/3 smaller pieces, and limited edition prints in a rack. All artworks can be for sale.

We will organise installation, labels, photos of your artwork in the gallery, local PR, sales, delivery of artwork to customers and installation if sold.

The gallery is open 7 days per week, Saturdays and Sundays are usually the busiest days of the week. The exhibition dates include two weekends.

We will host a Private View on the first Thursday of the exhibition: Thursday 24th October 6pm-8pm

Gallery commission on sales:

If you are exhibiting your work at Ad Lib Gallery the commission on sales of your artwork(s) will be 25% for the exhibition period (75% of artwork sales will go to the artist).

We’ll email you back once we have received your message with further info about the next billboard campaign.

When we have all the dates confirmed we will ask you to send 1-3 low res images of your artwork(s) for consideration. We’ll get the artwork for your poster approved by Art Below and will request payment to secure your place.

We will need a large 300 dpi image of your artwork(s) to finalise the design of your poster. We can check your image files for you and assist with artwork photography at the gallery if required.
