Anita Robinson

Anita Robinson is a New Zealand-born, Sydney-based contemporary artist creating vibrant abstract still life paintings and fine art prints. Drawing inspiration from nature, interiors and everyday objects, her work combines bold colour, expressive brushwork and richly layered textures with playful patterns and decorative details. Balancing abstraction with recognisable forms, her paintings have an almost wallpaper-like quality, with checks, stripes and loose florals creating a sense of rhythm and pattern across the canvas. The result is work that feels both contemporary and nostalgic, bringing warmth, personality and a little unexpected joy into a space.

After more than two decades working as an online marketing designer while raising her two daughters, Anita has returned to painting with a renewed sense of creative freedom. A passion that once took a back seat has now become a central part of her life, allowing her to explore colour, composition and the small details that make ordinary objects feel special.

From cacti and cocktails to patterned vases and familiar domestic scenes, Anita finds inspiration in the character and beauty of everyday things. Her paintings bring together expressive marks and carefully considered decorative elements, creating compositions that feel almost like fragments of a beautifully layered interior — part still life, part pattern, and entirely her own. Through this playful approach, she transforms the familiar into something fresh and unexpected, inviting viewers to find delight in the everyday and bring a distinctive sense of colour and character into their homes.
